I Don’t Noh Anything

Dispatch from Kevin…

I picked Blixt last week for The Open. Mistake. Oh well, Rory M wasn’t available. WE MOVE ON!

Slight problem. I still don’t know anything about picking winners.

So who to pick for the RBC Canadian Open? When you don’t know, go Noh. New saying. Winning saying…? The pick is Seung-Yul Noh.

PS – “Noh” is derived from the Sino-Japanese word for “skill” or “talent” (wiki)…Noh is Korean though, does that matter?

Once, Twice…

Three times – a major winner!  If you didn’t pick up what I was laying down there, that was a mash-up of the one-and-only Lionel Ritchie song “Three Times a Lady” to my selection this week, Martin Kaymer as he vies for his third major championship.

(side note, all these Lionel Ritchie connections come on the heels of me taking the Mrs. to the concert in Dallas last week – Lionel remains on my mind – which is why I bought myself one of these!)

Lots going for Kaymer since he knows how to battle the elements and we know the Open provides those challenges. He has a Major win under his belt already this year, so we know he is in pretty decent playing form.  And, it doesn’t hurt that he is in fact German and they just won the World Cup!

Let’s do it Kaymer, be as smooth as Sweet Lionel himself – though I see you don’t want him to touch you – we get it!!

Flip Flop

This is Kevin, and I have no clue about most things

That certainly applies for this week’s John Deere Classic.

Usually Steve Stricker is the pick. Either him or Zach Johnson. Usually it’s set it and forget it. But not this year, for me at least.

I’ll just list the various picks I selected, in order, and let you see that I am a flip-flopping ball of golf picking ignorance.

Scott Stallings
David Lingmerth
Steve Stricker
Sang-Moon Bae
Luke Guthrie
Sang-Moon Bae
Troy Matteson
Luke Guthrie
Troy Matteson
Harris English
Chris Stroud
Harris English
Sang-Moon Bae

And finally settling on…primarily because of his recent form, history and perceived putting prowess…

Chris Stroud

GO CHRIS!
